The new DC Universe begins with James Gunn's

One of the first series to be published by the new DC Comics has a diverse cast of monsters. On the horizon for this year

At the Warner presentation, we were aware that, with the exception of one thing or another, we would not have anything relating to the new phase of DC Comics that will begin the following year. That “one thing” was appetizing enough to leave us with little doubt that James Gunn’s reformulation of Warner’s superhero characters has substance. This was the case because the “one thing” was juicy enough.

As an appetizer (or the icing on the cake), let us not forget that we have witnessed a change of the DC Studio logo. This redesign will have caused some lovers of the classic superhero genre to shed tears, and it is evident that tradition is a very significant component in this new DC. It is a reimagining of the iconic emblem that was designed by none other than Milton Glaser and utilized by DC Studios from 1977 to 2005. To put it another way, this logo transports us to the films that are still considered to be the best films produced by the movie studio: “Batman” by Michael Keaton and “Superman” by Christopher Reeve.

Until the first set of films in the new DC Universe arrive (including the Superman picture that Gunn has written and is directing), we have a sampling in the form of an animated series: we will see ‘Creature Commandos’ in December, in a series that Gunn has also scripted entirely. This series will be a taster for us. When we watch this first trailer, we are introduced to an old friend: Amanda Waller, who is a member of the Suicide Squad and is portrayed by Viola Davis, as she always is.

There we find another old friend, Rick Flag Sr. (the labyrinth of cross-references begins: we will also see him in flesh and blood version in the second season of “The Peacemaker”), who comes into contact with an intriguing group of heroes, which includes Weasel, The Bride, GI Robot, Dr. Phosphorus, Frankenstein, and Nina Mazursky. It is abundantly clear that they were the forerunners of the Suicide Squad, a gang of DC Comics antiheroes among the best in the world. As a result of this initial teaser, we get our first glance at the characters, all of them exhibit Gunn’s signature sarcastic humor and an exceptional character design.

During the San Diego Comic-Con, DC Studios presented the first teaser trailer for Creature Commandos, which provided fans with their first glimpse of the new DC universe that was created by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The official beginning of the DC Universe will take place with the release of Superman in the following year; however, Creature Commandos will create a story that is independent of the DC Universe and will feature characters from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.

A new team is shown being assembled by Amanda Waller in the Creature Commandos video. This new team will take the place of Task Force X/Suicide Squad. “Task Force M” is the name given to the group, which brings a diverse assortment of characters from the DC Universe to life in an animated manner.

The brief trailer merely provides us with a glimpse of the aggressive and boisterous style of this new squad, coupled with James Gunn’s unique sense of humor. The DC universe will use the same actors for live-action, animation, and video games. Several of these actors will soon make the transition to live-action, beginning with Frank Grillo, who will play Rick Flag Sr. in Superman. However, there are a few notable exceptions, such as Sean Gunn, who not only provides the voices for two characters in the program but also portrays the role of Maxwell Lord in the live-action movies.

In addition, the clip indicates that the new logo for DC Studios is an updated version of the “DC bullet” emblem, which was used on the covers of DC comic books from the 1970s until 2005.

During the unveiling of the design at the San Diego Comic-Con, Gunn stated, “We needed a logo that pays honor to our past and signifies our future – ours and yours.” At the beginning of each and every upcoming DC Universe film, television show, and video game, the new logo will be displayed.

At the San Diego Comic-Con, DC Studios co-chief James Gunn revealed the first trailer for the new animated series “Creature Commandos.” This was the first step in the process of revealing his reimagined cinematic universe. Comic-Con also revealed that the launch will take place in December. There was an initial announcement made regarding the series in January of 2023, and Gunn was the sole author of the seven episodes that were ordered for Max.

The characters of Creature Commando, a group of superhumans who serve in the military, were introduced to the public for the first time in 1980. When the story was first told, the premise was a monster created by Frankenstein working together with a werewolf, a vampire, and a gorgon to battle Nazis during World War II. The television adaptation of Gunn’s film includes Weasel, a character from Gunn’s “The Suicide Squad” (2021), as well as Rick Flag Sr., who is a member of the Commando units.
