Both the Republican Party and the conservative media, which is dominated by Fox News, are fully committed to him. He is so well-supported by the network of conservative think tanks that he is forced to disassociate himself from the radical agenda that the Heritage Foundation, one of them, created for him.

The wealthiest man on the planet, Elon Musk, who claims to be a champion of freedom that ends where his business interests do, also ostentatiously supports him. Musk is the powerful owner of the social network X, which allows far-right ideas to flourish. A telling example of this was the long talk, laced with complacency and connivance, that the two men had there on August 12.

The candidate who opposed the system has gained support from the establishment and is now the front-runner. This fact makes the triangulation tactic more difficult to implement, which helped him draw in former Democratic voters in 2016. Then he pulled out the protectionism card, which has since been stolen by the Democratic Party.

He declared that he would overbid in this sector, which would benefit the wealthy at the expense of the less fortunate. The wealthiest would once again profit from the anticipated tax cut renewals, and more cuts would make social programs less sustainable. Regarding the pledge of mass deportations of undocumented immigrants, voters in 2024 have a right to question if it would end up like the 2016 pledge, which called for Mexico to pay for the building of a “wall” on its border with the United States against its will.
