The megalomaniacal project that Adam Driver stars in is already generating a lot of strong opinions with its release.

As more and more information about the upcoming film “Megalopolis” directed by Francis Ford Coppola becomes available to us, our anticipation levels continue to scale to new heights. The fact that it has a release date of 2024 was already something that we were aware of, as well as the fact that its ambition and point of view promised either unprecedented success or catastrophic failure. However, now that the initial reactions are beginning to come in, we are beginning to realize that things are getting serious: we are dealing with the most ambitious and unclassifiable film of the year.

Because of this, it is not even close to being a commercial enterprise; in fact, some individuals are referring to it as a “hard sell” and a project that has “zero commercial potential.” It appears that a significant number of those present are in agreement that the project is incredibly peculiar and that Coppola has a slim chance of recouping the 120 million dollars that it cost him. He was able to finance the project by selling off a portion of his vineyards in Northern California.

An all-star cast, including Adam Driver, Forest Whitaker, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Jason Schwartzman, and Shia LaBeouf, is featured in the picture, which tells the narrative of a woman who recognizes that the two men in her life are headed in opposite directions. Her father is a powerful businessman who has a traditional perception of society, and her lover is an architect who has the goal of significantly altering New York City and transforming it into a utopia that will enable it to survive a calamity that has decimated it.

The most significant concern at this time, in light of the extravagant nature of the film, is whether or not it will be distributed. This will be the long-awaited conclusion to the picture. The director shot thirty hours of footage for the second unit, but the production was put on hold until today because of the atrocities of September 11, 2001.
