There are whispers of ‘Call of Duty’ on Game Pass on day one. Microsoft clearly wants a subscription avalanche.

A landing on the subscription service is mentioned in the first leaks that have been associated with Microsoft’s ambitions.

Since it became public knowledge that Microsoft intended to acquire Activision Blizzard, and after the entire legal process that lasted for twenty-one months and culminated with the company achieving its objective, there was one franchise that stood out among all others, as an obvious part of the interests that moved with this operation: “Call of Duty.” The military first-person shooter is the crown jewel of Activision’s collection, and there have been persistent rumors that Microsoft would be interested in utilizing it to bolster the Game Pass offer.

A thousand-yard game pass is available. The Wall Street Journal reports that Microsoft may have different intentions and launch it directly on Game Pass, despite the fact that the option that appears to be the most logical for Microsoft would be to sell the subsequent installments of the saga separately and in multiplatform mode in order to maximize the commercial potential of the saga. There should be more players. “Although we have no plans to include ‘Modern Warfare 3’ or ‘Diablo 4’ in Game Pass this year, once the agreement is closed, we hope to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world,” Activision Blizzard wrote in a post that was released on social networks in October of last year. The most recent installment of ‘Diablo’ was released on Game Pass in March of last year, and the reason behind this is crystal clear: to attract an increasing number of members to Game Pass. As of right now (February 2024), there are approximately 34 million subscribers; nevertheless, it is abundantly evident that Microswoft is going to do everything in its power to ensure that the number continues to increase without any interruptions.

The destiny of the Call of Duty brand has been one of the most significant questions that have arisen in relation to Microsoft’s controversial acquisition of Activision Blizzard for a sum of $69 billion USD.
